Copy!07 versteht sich als inhaltliche und formale Fortführung und Erweiterung des Netlabelfestivals, das im November 06 in der Roten Fabrik stattfand. Das Thema des künstlerischen Programms Copy! orientiert sich ganz an der Idee des Kopierens. Copy! Ist eine Aufforderung an das Publikum und die Künstler. Während 6 Tagen präsentiert Copy!07 ein künstlerisches Programm, welches Formate und Arbeiten vorstellt, deren Rohstoff und Ausgangsmedium die Kopie ist. Dass das Kopieren als Prozess selbst wieder eine kreative Äusserung zeigen kann, wird vor allem im musikalischen Kontext [Remixes, Mashups, etc.], im Film- und Videobereich [Found Footage], aber auch in anderen Kunstformen immer wieder demonstriert. Vor allem vor dem Hintergrund des Diskurses um Copyright, »geistigem Eigentum«, Kunst als [kommerziell verwertbares] Produkt und Unikat, erhält die Kopie eine besondere Relevanz. Die sechs Festivaltage bieten Musik, Performances, Workshops, Filme, Videos, Gespräche und Shows zum Thema Kopie als künstlerischer Ausdruck in all ihren Spielformen und manifestieren die Freiheit zu Kopieren. Das grosse Finale findet dann am Wochenende in der Aktionshalle und im Foyer der Roten Fabrik statt. Zwei Konzertabende und Clubnächte mit Acts aus der weltweiten Netlabelszene. Nacht der Performer und Nacht der Apparate – analoge und elektronische Sounds aus den Weiten der Datennetze. Namen die man sich merken muss und Namen über die man schon mal gestolpert ist. Der Freitag widmet sich ganz dem Motto »Bühne frei!«, während sich der Samstag mal dezent minimal, mal maxi-mal brachial auf den von Apparaten erzeugten Schwingungen ausbreitet.
